-----

We've stopped being over reliant on toxic synthetic fiber and equipment which lacks the durability and insulative properties we're looking for when it comes to consecutive days of long-term wet weather exposure.

Eventually, if you're out for long enough everything will get saturated. This is where wool thrives.
Our aim is not to stay dry indefinitely, but for wet weather to have a significantly less compromising impact on our safety, comfort, and warmth.
This makes getting saturated from rain a lot less noticeable, and the tangible breath-ability of wool results in quicker drying.
It may seem radically different to some outdoor community's standards, however, we like staying dry too! But we're not betting on the weather or our "waterproofs" to agree.

An "all eggs in one basket" approach to staying dry outside might be the Achille's heel to our outdoor resilience.

Factually it starts with us.
If we don't create heat, there's none to be reflected in the clothing.
(we aim to address this issue in some of our courses.)

Bernardiston Hall Preparatory school
" In the increasingly competitive world of activities for children, particularly in the crowded outdoor variety, it is easy and prudent to be wary.
However, Stone of Scotland simply obliterates any concerns.
A wonderful combination of knowledge, pride, enthusiasm and authenticity carries children along on a truly magical ride. The weapons, of course, were a big hit but most of all, it was the warmth and passion that Jason and Katie exuded that sets them apart.
Everything was original, thoughtfull and individual.
An utter joy from start to finish. "
Tom Langhorne

" Jason's passion for wilderness living and making traditional clothes and crafts is truly inspiring!
His handmade wool hood and tunic is my go-to kit when living out in the woods and they are a regular feature of my Youtube channel (Fandabi Dozi).
Highly recommended for anyone who wants functional outdoor living clothing while connecting with the old ways. "
